On July 3, 2026, at the Municipal Multimedia Center “Kiro Gligorov” – Shtip, the first regional workshop for the development of the National Strategy for the Development of Tourism in the Republic of Macedonia for the period 2027 – 2032 was held.<\/p>\n

The workshop was attended by over 50 (fifty) representatives from the public, non-governmental and private sectors from the Eastern Planning Region.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of the workshop, representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism gave a brief explanation of the process and the planned dynamics for the development of the National Strategy for the Development of Tourism in the Republic of Macedonia for the period 2027 – 2032. The experts engaged for the development of the new National Strategy for the Development of Tourism presented the key findings from the previously conducted analysis of the state of tourism in the Eastern Planning Region and the conclusions from it through a short presentation. Development of spa and mountain tourism are the main priorities for the development of the region in the next five-year period.<\/p>\n

The second part of the workshop was dedicated to a review of the data template from the tourism sector and space was given for comments, remarks and suggestions from the participants. Through a constructive discussion with all stakeholders from the region, the current situation in the tourism sector was reviewed, with special emphasis on the problems faced by stakeholders.<\/p>\n

Many thanks to all participants for the expressed interest and the constructive discussion, which is particularly important for the successful creation of a comprehensive and realistic National Strategy for Tourism Development, which will reflect the needs and priorities at the local, regional and national levels.<\/p>\n

The process of preparing the National Strategy for Tourism Development of the Republic of Macedonia for the period 2027 – 2032 is expected to be completed in November 2026.<\/p>\n
