The Center for Development of the East Planning Region continues with the realization of activities supported by the Programme for Nature Conservation in Macedonia. The Nature Conservation Programme in Macedonia is a project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, which has been implemented in the East Planning Region for the 6th year.
On November 6, 2018 in the premises of the House of Culture "Zletovsky Miner" in Probistip was held a workshop for exchange of experiences for the nomination of Lesnovo in the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network.
The workshop was also attended by experts from Croatia and Romania, who presented the nomination process for a member of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network, the benefits of obtaining a World Heritage status, the problems they faced during the nomination process, as well as the opportunities for establishing mutual cooperation.
The workshop was aimed at strengthening the capacities of all stakeholders in the process and overcoming the recent doubts about the procedure for nominating Lesnovo as a member of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network.
