Trained companies from the Eastern Planning Region of RSM and mentoring support of SMEs within the project “Knowledge Accelerator for SMEs” MEKA

The project “Knowledge Accelerator for Small and Medium Enterprises” MEKA is financed by the European Union through the Central Financing and Contracting Sector (CFCD) – Ministry of Finance of the Republic of S. Macedonia, the contract for awarding subsidies within the framework of the IPA National Program for Transition aid and institution building 2013, Grant scheme “Grant scheme for implementation of projects for increasing the competitiveness of the beneficiary country” – EuropeAid/138495/ID/ACT/MK, implemented by the Foundation for Local Development and Development of Information Technologies – Gevgelija in partnership with the Women’s Organization – Shtip.

The main goal of the project is increased absorption of EU funds, through the Horizon 2020 programs, the European program for the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises – COSME, Erasmus, and others
EU programs. Target groups in the project are small and medium enterprises, micro enterprises, business associations, clusters, chambers of commerce and regional business centers.

Within the framework of the project, cooperation with the Center for the Development of
Eastern planning region and the Business Center at the Development Center
Eastern Planning Region. As part of the cooperation, the Development Center of the Eastern Planning Region helped in communication with SMEs in sharing contacts, information and documents related to the support of the SME sector, but with special reference to micro companies. On the other hand, the project will provide the center with equipment that will serve it to hold trainings and presentations.

Within the framework of the project, 4 training modules were implemented for companies from the eastern region related to topics that were determined as priorities during the research conducted as part of the project.

In Shtip, 20 SMEs from the eastern region took part and gained additional knowledge and skills to turn their companies into successful and profitable businesses.
