Working meeting in Hungary within the framework of the project “Enhancing regional and local hubs for attraction and retention of talents and investments – MAGNET”

In the period 28-29.04.2026, part of the project team and members of the Stakeholder group attended a two-day study visit to Hungary, in the cities of Sárvár and Szombathely. The aim of the study visit was to exchange, learn and collaborate by bringing together project partners and regional stakeholders for two days.

The study visit took place in the historic setting of Nádasdy Castle and offered a dynamic platform for exploring innovative approaches to strengthening regional ecosystems for talent development and investment.

The program began with presentations focusing on the development of startups and talent development services, highlighting how innovation hubs can improve regional competitiveness. Participants also had the opportunity to gain insights into how healthcare innovation ecosystems can create strong value propositions for regions, positioning them as attractive environments for both talent and investment. These discussions were complemented by a study visit to Szombathely, where participants witnessed first-hand the needs of local initiatives, showcasing the multi-sector approach to investment and talent development through the example of Schaeffler and BPW, PBN innovation labs, and Elte University’s dual education models that integrate industry and education to better meet the needs of the regional workforce.

On the second day of the study visit, the focus shifted to collaborative learning through a thematic session on peer review of multi-stakeholder co-creation strategies for talent attraction and investment development. This interactive format allowed partners to exchange experiences, reflect on challenges and identify transferable practices. The meeting concluded with a meeting of the Project Steering Committee to review the progress of the project and define next steps.

The study visit to Hungary of the MAGNET project partners provided a significant opportunity to strengthen cooperation, share knowledge and advance joint efforts towards more innovative, resilient and talented regional ecosystems.
