Fourth meeting of the Project “PPP4BROADBEND”

On the 18th, 19th and 20th February 2014 in Gabrovo, Republic of Bulgaria was conducted the fourth meeting of the Project "PPP4BROADBEND". The meeting was attended by representatives of partner organizations from Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Romania, Austria and Macedonia. Partner in the project, from macedonian side is the Centre for Development of the East Planning Region and Center for Knowledge, an organization from Skopje.

img alt="" class="cke-resize" src="images/PPP4.2.jpg" style="height: 188px; border-width: 2px; border-style: solid; text-align: justify; margin: 5px; float: right; width: 251px;" /> The main objective is to facilitate and stimulate the use of broadband internet in underdeveloped areas or rural areas in Southeast Europe through models of public-private partnership, which will contribute for better economic and social development in these areas. Access to the Internet will allow to make functional informational network between medical facilities and institutions, to conduct time studies and trainings, to develop electronic commerce and electronic business, to facilitate access to administrative services to citizens and many other benefits.

During the meeting in Gabrovo , Republic of Bulgaria, main goals and strategies for dissemination of broadband in rural areas of Southeast Europe were discussed and elaborated. The basic idea is how the public sector can work with the private sector to get enhanced cooperation in the allocation of existing risk and combining existing resources, because in most cases it is not feasible for both private and public sector. At this moment, the guide for using and 9 models of PPP in the English language are prepared; and the translation and adaptiot the legislation to partner countries in the project is in the process of preparing.
