On 28 February 2017, the Centre for Development of East Planning Region and District Administration of Blagoevgrad held the first press conference to promote the “Green buildings for shared green future-Green” CB006.1.11.038, funded by First Call INTERREG – IPA CBC Bulgaria – Macedonia 2014-2020.
Centre for Development of East Planning Region – Shtip, the leading partner in the project “Green buildings for shared green future-Green” at the first press conference promoted the activities within the project before representatives of municipalities within the two regions, the media and other interested sides of the cross-border region.
On the press conference the project importances were addressed by:
- Mrs. Dragica Zdraveva -Head of Centre for Development of East Planning Region and financial expert in the Project;

Mr. Ratko Dimitrovski, Mayor of the Municipality of Kochani;

Mr. Valerij Sarandev – Governor of District Administration Blagoevgrad and

Mr. Dennis Zernovski-Project Team Leader
The main goal of the event was the guests thoroughly familiar with the activities envisaged under the project Green i.e Reconstruction of the administrative building of the Municipality of Kochani for increasing its energy efficiency and a shift from energy class D in energy class B. The building built in the early 20th century will retain its architectural style, but the project installation of thermal insulation, green roofs, replacement of windows, lift and toilets for people with special needs will translate into real energy European unique structure of its kind in the region.
Similar activities will be performed on the administrative building of the Regional Administration Blagoevgrad.
This is the first joint project of the East Planning Region and the Regional Administration Blagoevgrad.
Besides reconstruction, the project includes a campaign to raise awareness of citizens to build a green infrastructure that besides being positive for the environment positively reflected on the budget of the citizens, more workshops, web portal, regional strategy for energy efficiency and several working meetings.
The total budget of the project is 398,436.00 euros.
