On September 29, 2018, within the manifestation "Days of rice" in the municipality of Kocani, the tourist information center "Ponikva" officially started its work.
The main goal of the tourist information center is to offer as much information as possible for the site and for the recreational center "Ponikva", but also to promote a preserved and improved environment, sustainable use of energy, development of different types of tourism, as well as strengthens the institutional and human capacities for tourism development throughout the East region.
The project is implemented within the framework of the Nature Conservation Programme in Macedonia, a project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and the Government of Switzerland.
The opening of the tourist information center "Ponikva" was attended by the ambassador of the European Union in the Republic of Macedonia. Mr. Samuil Zbogar, Deputy Ambassador of Switzerland Mr. Stefanie Tomagejian, Minister of Local Self-Government Mr. Suheil Fazliu, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Supply Mr. Ljupco Nikolovski and Director of the Bureau for Regional Development Mr. Ramiz Rexhepi.
