The first agrometeorological stations for protection of agricultural crops in the East Planning Region were set up in Kocani, Vinica and Zrnovci.

The total value of the project is 2,169.00.00 denars without VAT through the Program for Sustainable and Inclusive Balanced Regional Development, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and the Ministry of Local Self-Government.

The installation of agrometeorological stations will provide information to farmers for timely protection of crops from atmospheric influences, as well as to plan all agro-technical measures to be taken at certain times of the year. The devices contained in the stations will measure the temperature and humidity of the air, the speed and direction of the wind, the amount of precipitation, the solar radiation, the humidity of the leaves of the plants, as well as the temperature and humidity of the soil. A web platform will be developed through which farmers will receive information about the possible occurrence of plant diseases under the influence of weather conditions.

The implementation of this project will continue in the other municipalities in the Eastern region, and thus all eleven municipalities will receive one Agrometeorological station for protection of agricultural crops and the environment.
