Signed agreements for the implementation of regional projects for the development of the Eastern planning region for 2023 – 2024

On November 27, 2023, the Director of the Regional Development Bureau, Mr. Ramiz Redzepi, and the Director of the Center for the Development of the Eastern Planning Region, Mrs. Zujitsa Angelova, signed the Agreements for the financing of regional projects for the development of the Eastern Planning Region. Funds in the amount of MKD 49.6 million are provided by the Program for Balanced Regional Development for 2023 with indicative planned funds for 2024, through the Ministry of Local Self-Government and the Regional Development Bureau. At the same time, funds in the amount of 6.3 million denars were provided, co-financing by the municipalities, end users in the projects. In 2024, the Eastern planning region will work on:

1. Installation of photovoltaic systems on public facilities in 5 (five) municipalities from the Eastern planning region. Within the framework of the project, 2 photo voltage stations will be installed in the municipality of Shtip, 3 photo voltage stations in the municipality of Karbinci, 3 photo voltage stations in the municipality of Kočani, 1 photo voltage station in the municipality of Vinica and 3 photo voltage stations in the municipality of Makedonska Kamenica. The project will cover 13 public facilities from the region.
2. Enrichment of the tourist offer in the Eastern planning region. Within the framework of the project, the construction of 3 (three) pedestrian-bicycle paths on Berovsko Ezero, the improvement of the Ezerce marsh ecosystem in the municipality of Pehchevo – III phase, the construction of a recreational complex in the village is foreseen. Pishica, Municipality of Probishtip and paving of streets in an authentic style in the settlement of Novo Selo – Phase II.
3. Improvement of the conditions for the development of tourism in the Eastern planning region with a secured part of funds will be a reserve project for this program period.

In addition, from the saved funds from the Program for the Development of Planning Regions for 2022 with indicatively planned funds for 2023, an annex to the Agreement for the implementation of the project “Improving the conditions for the development of mountain – recreational tourism – Arrangement of SRC Ponikva” was signed. The goal of the Program for Balanced Regional Development is to improve well-being in all eight planning regions, reduce regional disparities and improve the quality of life of citizens by achieving balanced and sustainable development in the entire territory of the state. The funds will be used maximally and responsibly – all with the aim of sustainable development of the region and a better life for the citizens of the Eastern Planning Region!
