The Second Forum Session was held in the Eastern Planning Region

The Center for the Development of the Eastern Planning Region, today conducted the Second Regional Forum Session in Hotel Izgrev – Shtip, for the selection of proposals – projects for financing from the Program for the Development of the Planning Regions for 2024 with indicative planned funds for 2025, which is being implemented through the Ministry of Local Self-Government and the Regional Development Bureau. At today’s second forum session, the present representatives from all 11 (eleven) municipalities in the region were presented by the external expert with the cost-benefit analyzes for the identified regional proposal-concepts, which were previously approved at the 14th Session of the Development Council of Eastern Planning Region. The participants of the forum session in the second part of the session performed scoring by working tables, by means of voting they ranked the proposal – concepts in the following way: 1. “Introduction of measures for EE of public facilities and use of RES (Improvement of the conditions in the educational process in IPR)”, 26 points; 2. “Improving energy efficiency in the region by replacing public street lighting with LED lighting”, 19 points; 3. “Improvement in environmental protection by equipping vehicles for garbage collection and maintaining public hygiene in the region”, 14 points and 4. Regional center for the care and control of the population of stray dogs and veterinary health in the Eastern planning region (production of complete technical documentation), 11 points. With this, the Center for Development of the Eastern Planning Region completes the process of regional consultations for regional projects of importance for the region, for which application forms to the Regional Development Bureau will be prepared during the next year. The next steps in the process envisage the presentation of the results of the Second Forum Session at the next session of the Council for the Development of the Eastern Planning Region, which should result in the adoption of a Decision on the priority of the identified regional project proposals from the forum process. The two forum sessions were attended by over 120 participants who, with their suggestions and discussions, helped guide the development of the region in the next year. The regional forums are implemented within the framework of the project “Sustainable and inclusive balanced regional development – second phase” and are financially supported by the Ministry of Local Self-Government and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
