On September 11, 2025, the Third Workshop for the Preparation of the Joint Green Infrastructure Strategy (2025 – 2035) for the Eastern Planning Region (R. Macedonia) and the Municipality of Gotse Delchev (R. Bulgaria) was held at the Izgrev Hotel in Shtip, within the framework of the project “TRANSFORMING URBAN AREAS WITH GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE” EcoScape BGMK0300060.
The workshop defined strategic goals and priorities for the development of Green Infrastructure in the Eastern Planning Region, based on the previously established vision for 2035.
At the same time, work was also done on tools, techniques and good practices for active public participation and monitoring of the implementation of the strategic document.
The participants, through structured discussion, group analysis and priority matrix, mapped the real challenges and resources, and proposed guidelines as a basis for formulating strategic goals and priorities.
The workshop was attended by 35 participants from several institutions within the Eastern Planning Region, who contributed to the fulfillment of the workshop’s goal.
The development of the first Green Infrastructure Strategy was financed within the project: “TRANSFORMING URBAN AREAS WITH GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE” ECOSCAPE BGMK0300060, financially supported by the Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Interreg-IPA Bulgaria-North Macedonia INTERREG VI-A IPA 2021-2027.
