The Constitutive Session of the Inter-Municipal Board for Waste Management in the Eastern Planning Region was held at the Municipal Multimedia Center “Kiro Gligorov” in Shtip on December 1, 2025.
At the beginning of the session, a Commission for Verification of Mandates was elected, followed by the verification of the mandates of the Board members. By unanimous decision, Vladko Grozdanov, Mayor of the Municipality of Kocani, was elected Chairman of the Inter-Municipal Board.
Within the framework of the session, key documents and decisions related to the implementation of a strategic environmental impact assessment for the Regional Waste Management Plan in the Eastern and Northeastern Regions were also adopted. In addition, the Board adopted nominations for a member and deputy member of the Steering Board of the project for the closure of illegal landfills in the region.
By holding this constitutive session, the foundations have been laid for more coordinated regional action, more efficient waste management policies and improved environmental protection. The session represents a significant step towards ensuring a cleaner, more sustainable and healthier living environment for the residents of the East Planning Region.
