Second meeting of the Stakeholder Board of the project “ACTAge – Active Ageing Centres: Enhancing Social, Physical, and Mental Health for Elderly Well-Being” was held

On 17.04.2026, the Second Meeting of the Stakeholder Board of the project “ACTAge – Active Ageing Centres: Enhancing Social, Physical, and Mental Health for Elderly Well-Being” was held.

Considering the nature of the project, the Ministry of Social Policy, Demography and Youth, the Social Work Centres from the East Planning Region and the municipalities of Berovo, Probishtip and Shtip were identified as stakeholders.

At the second meeting, the process of strategic planning and setting the vision for improving the well-being of the elderly in the East Planning Region officially began. First, the representatives of the affected institutions discussed the actors that have a direct and indirect impact on the well-being of the elderly at the national, regional and local levels, by identifying problems and obstacles they face in their daily work. Additionally, the priority needs of municipalities and Social Work Centers regarding the health and well-being of the elderly were discussed, as well as other needs that affect the region and are in the domain of social protection.

As a next step, an analysis of the region from a social aspect was approached. The representatives present identified the strengths and weaknesses of the region, and discussed the opportunities that should be used to improve the situation in the region, as well as the threats that may affect the well-being of the elderly.

The project focuses on changing policies for the care of the elderly and providing policymakers with a framework for integrated policies that will enable the elderly to have equal opportunities and lead a dignified, active and meaningful life.

The ActAge project is implemented with EU funding, within the framework of the Interreg Europe Program.
