Workshop for the preparation of the Register of potentials for the development of rural tourism in EPR

The project “Innovative solutions for better access to services at the local level” is being implemented by the UNDP and the Ministry of Local Self-Government, within which the potentials for the development of tourism in the Eastern Planning Region will be mapped.

On September 29, 2017 (Friday), in the “Izgrev” hotel in Shtip, the Center for the Development of the Eastern Planning Region organized a workshop for the preparation of the Register of potentials for the development of rural tourism in EPR.

As part of this activity, a Register of potentials for the development of rural tourism will be prepared for the Eastern planning region.

As a first step for the implementation of the activity, the need to prepare a Register / List of existing documents for tourism at the regional and local level was determined. As a second step for the implementation of the activity, the need to fill in the Matrices / Evidence list of local tourist offer was determined. BDS (Balkan Development Solutions) together with its experts are working on the preparation of the Register of potentials for the development of rural tourism.

At this workshop, interested representatives presented their results, provided guidance, and reviewed the most important issues from the registry.

The event was attended by representatives from: municipalities, LED departments, public enterprises, NGOs, hoteliers, travel agencies, the Center for the Development of the Eastern Planning Region, experts from BDS, the Macedonian Environmental Society, associations of farmers, farmers and other interested parties.

Topics of the event were:

  • Introduction to the goals and tasks of the workshop, as well as the preparation of the register;
  • Overview of the list of tourist offers, with discussion;
  • Qualitative analysis – assessment of rural tourism factors in IPR, and

Assessment of factors for rural tourism in IPR.
