On December 10, 2019 in the Cabinet of the Mayor of Stip was signed the agreement for mutual cooperation for realization of the project "Reduction of carbon footprint of Municipality Stip".
The agreement for joint implementation of the project was signed by the Head of the Center for Development of the East Planning Region, the Mayor of the Municipality of Stip Blagoj Bochvarski and the Rector of the University "Goce Delchev" Blazo Boev. The project also includes kindergartens, primary and secondary schools and public utilities.
The aim of the project is the inclusion of the Municipality of Stip towards the global initiative for reducing the pollution of the atmosphere with greenhouse gases and preserving the health of the population through reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and production of electricity from renewable energy sources.
The total cost of the project is around 10.000.000 euros and will be submitted for funding by the Green Climate Fund, a UN-backed initiative.
