Within the project “Support to Social Entrepreneurship”, the Center for Development of the East Planning Region has been selected as a Regional Office for Social Entrepreneurship.
The introduction and development of social entrepreneurship in our country is in the initial stage of development, but the existing social enterprises show that there is potential for growth and development of this concept in our country as well. Exactly for those reasons, in the coming period, the adoption of a special legal framework for social entrepreneurship is envisaged.
What is social entrepreneurship?
Social entrepreneurship is the implementation of economic activities under certain operating conditions and employment of mainly marginalized groups of persons.
The social enterprise is a new model of business with a social purpose that is not yet (sufficiently) treated in the Macedonian economy, but is practiced all over the world. Social enterprises operate in two directions:
Provide goods and services to marginalized and underdeveloped communities i
They employ people from vulnerable groups of citizens.
That is why it is a great honor for us that we as the Regional Office for Social Entrepreneurship will be pioneers who will participate in the development of social enterprises in the Eastern region by offering quality technical support as well as professional support for their development, in order to enable employment of vulnerable categories of persons.
From now on, our focus will be on social entrepreneurs in order to be informed in a timely manner about all the opportunities for financial and technical support that will be available.
