The Council for the Development of the Eastern Planning Region, on 01.11.2024, in the municipality of Pehchevo, held its XVIII (Eighteenth) Session.
The Council elected Mr. Borcho Kocev – Mayor of the municipality of Zrnovci as its new president.
At the Session, the Council gave Consent for Employment / Notification of Provided Financial Resources and adopted a Decision to initiate a procedure for the selection of a director.
The Council discussed the current situation with landfills in the Eastern Planning Region and took a unified position to send an Initiative to the competent institutions in order to involve them in overcoming the alarming situation arising from the delay in the implementation of the projects “Establishment of a Regional Waste Management System in the Eastern and Northeastern Region” and “Closing of Non-Standard and Illegal Landfills in the Eastern Region” and from the Decision of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia on the manner of operation and handling of existing waste disposal locations and determination of temporary waste disposal locations until the period of construction of the regional landfill for the Eastern and Northeastern Region.
The Council was informed about the status of the projects financed by the Program for Balanced Regional Development for 2023 with indicatively planned funds for 2024.
At the Session, the Council also adopted:
Decision on the transfer of a constructed facility “Further development of a marsh ecosystem pond – Phase III”;
Action Plan for 2025 for the implementation of the Eastern Planning Region Development Program 2021 -2026;
Decision to borrow funds for the implementation of the “EcoScape” Project.
