The Center for Development of the Eastern Planning Region is hosting a “Workshop for Social Protection Councils”.
The workshop will be held on 27.11.2024 (Wednesday) starting at 10 am.
In accordance with the projected goals of the project “Sustainable and Inclusive Balanced Regional Development – Phase 2” and the need for effective implementation of the goals and principles of the policy for encouraging balanced regional development from the provisions of the Law on Balanced Regional Development, it is planned to organize and hold workshops on the topic “Development of Social Services in Planning Regions” in all eight planning regions.
The planned workshops will work on: – Increasing cooperation between the Ministry of Local Self-Government, the Ministry of Social Policy, Demography and Youth and the Bureau for Regional Development in order to achieve balanced, sustainable and inclusive regional development; – Achieving cohesion in the social development of planning regions through the establishment and delivery of regional social services; – Identifying the need to unify other documentation necessary for monitoring, comparing and evaluating social development in the planning regions; – Creating a draft format for the document “Proposal for the need to develop social services in the planning region, the type and manner of establishing services in the Eastern Planning Region”; – Identifying opportunities for providing a mechanism for financing regional social services through cooperation between the Center for Development of the Eastern Planning Regions and the Council for Social Protection of the Eastern Planning Region.
The workshop should be attended by members of the Council for Social Protection of the EPR, as well as representatives of the municipalities within the EPR that work to promote local economic development and social welfare. Other persons who can contribute to the quality of the workshops can also participate (for example, members of municipal councils for social protection, representatives of institutions, local experts, representatives of civil organizations, providers of social services, etc.).
