The Centre for Development of the East Planning Region, in collaboration with GTZ RED program for regional development in Macedonia held a workshop on "Regional marketing”.
The workshop was held in Shtip. The workshop took place from 21-23 June. The main topic was establishment the East region as one brand, and also the process elaboration of strategies for regional marketing.
The aim of the workshop was to introduce the basics of regional marketing, exchange positive experiences from EU countries and create a concept for promotion of the East (Bregalnica) region. Participants at the workshop were representatives from the municipalities in the region, economic and legal experts, who gained additional experience and knowledge of regional promotion of Bregalnica region.
The workshop was opened by the Mayor of Shtip, Dr. Zoran Aleksov, who noted that the East region must determine which products will become a recognizable brand in order to invest in their promotion and create a successful tourist-promotional perspective on selected products.
The workshop included three moderators from Germany, Croatia and Macedonia. They presented the theoretical basis, as well as some practical experiences from EU countries, with particular reference to Croatia. The gropu visited the archaeological site Bargala, as one of the sites that may become brand-mark of regional marketing in the region.
