There was a regular meeting held between the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Gjorgje Ivanov, and the mayors from the East planning region. The meeting was held on 27.07.2010 at the Presidents’ Residence.
On the meeting, the President was interested in discussed with the mayors on the Submitcurrent problems in the region, having in mind also that this region is one of the most underdeveloped in the country. The mayors presented their activities undertaken in order to improve the current condition. The accent was put on the water supply and waste management issue, solid waste management, environment and international cooperation, especially regarding the cross border cooperation.
The President was fully introduced with the programme activities of our region and the possibilities for financing. He also expressed his hope that this type of meetings will occur more frequently in the future, which is special contrubution towards the motivation and promotion of the region within the country and abroad.
