Second workshop for review / preparation of the Programme for development of East Planning Region (2015-2019)

On 02-03.10.2014, in Hotel Izgrev in Shtip, the Centre for Development of East Planning Region held a second workshop for review / preparation of the Programme for development of the East Planning Region (2015-2019). The audit program is implemented in accordance with Article 12 of the Law for Regional Development (Fig. Gazette no. 63/2007) and Rulebook for the methodology for preparation of planning documents for regional development, Fig. Gazette 102/2009 year.

The workshop was attended and took an active part in developing the Programme, representatives from local government, the business sector, NGOs, PE and line ministries.

Before participants were presented the objectives of the workshop and was presented a summary of previous workshops on SWOT analysis. Then, presented the existing vision, whether it is reached, what are its shortcomings and ways in which to think about defining a new vision for the new programming period.

During the workshop Revised Strategy for Regional Development of the Republic of Macedonia was presented. In the other part of the workshop, the consultants presented the draft strategic areas that would appear in the new Programme for development of the East Planning Region (2015-2019). Through interactive dialogue approach to determine the medium-term objectives and priorities of the program.

The workshop ended with a discussion of next steps to be taken to develop a quality Programme that will allow for balanced regional development in the region.
